Kate Stewart's Bio~

Kate was exposed to jazz music at a very early age when her father, a radio news reporter, would take home the albums record companies sent to the station promoting their artists. As a small child she was already a big fan of Charlie Bird, nursing her Shirley Temple next to her parents with their scotch & sodas, on frequent visits to Byrd's Nest, his club outside Washington D.C.
“As a teenager, all my friends were begging their moms and dads to let them go to rock concerts. I got mine to take me to see Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Pass and Oscar Peterson – all together – at a Jazz Festival!…I love all kinds of music, but Jazz wraps itself inside and around you – you can’t separate the feeling from the music because the feeling IS the music.”
Kate started singing in clubs with bands at 16 , lettered in music in high school, and put herself through college singing and dancing in New England's varied theaters and nightclubs.
In addition to performing with her own band, the K8 Stewart Experience; she has performed in venues across the United States, fronting other bands including The Dry Martini Orchestra, Love Patrol, CIN and X-OT-X. These bands included members of The Ray Charles Orchestra, Spirit, Liza Minelli's Orchestra, The Tony Bennett Band, The Boxtops, The Dizzy Gillespie Orchestra, The Solomon Burke Band, Charlie Haden's Liberation Jazz Orchestra, Billy Higgins Quartet and The Michael Barasamonta Jazz Ensemble.
In 2005 Kate released an EP-CD, They All Come Back, which was co-produced with Jamieson Trotter and Tony Ferguson of A & M/Interscope Music.
When Kate isn't busy onstage singing, she can be found acting in films, television shows, and tv commercials. You can catch here in the feature film, No Rules playing Tom Sizemore's wife, episodes of I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, Discovery Channels:Solved, Glee, a Kellogg's Heart Smart Cereal commercial, infomercials for Foodsaver Storage Products and HD Sunglasses, and most recently, a music video for Fanfarlo's latest release Shiny Pretty Things.
